welcome to www.merseafishingtrips.co.uk this site has been set up to try and show you the many assets mersea has to offer for the experienced or inexperienced fisherman. we run two boats out of the 4 charter boats that work from mersea which is one of the most productive charter fleets along this coast which must say something good about the port. mersea is located approximately 10 miles south of colchester and it generally only takes 20minutes to get to the a12 at the most. we are lucky at mersea to be able to provide free parking and most of the time gain access to a walk on walk off facility in the shape of a large floating pontoon and very little tidal restrictions. We have an all year round fishery here and thanks to the Thames estuary's many sand banks and the blackwater estuary in which we are situated we can get out in most weather conditions. we have two boats which are both fitted out with all of the latest safety and navigational equipment the razorbill run by Stuart belbin . the boats are each licensed and insured to carry up to six passengers and two crew. we can take out people either on the basis of hiring the whole boat when as few as one person can hire the whole boat to themselves or they can pay an individual price and go out with another group of individuals.we also have many people book the whole boat as a group outing. due to the size and smaller running costs of our boats compared to others we can charge less for the hire of the whole boat so it is more affordable for a small party. although for parties of over 8 they are welcome to hire both boats.the other bonus of the boats only being licensed for up to 6 or 8 rather than 10 or 12 is that the skipper only has 6 or 8 anglers to worry about rather than 12 so each angler should be given more attention which will hopefully help them to enjoy there trip. feel free to browse our site and we hope to hear from you soon. |
